Last night, Tuesday November 4th 2008 around 11 PM U.S. Eastern Time, NBC projected that Barack Obama will become the 44th President of the United States. With the election of Barack Obama several myths are now debunk. First, yes Americans can elect a person of color, in this case and African-American as President. Secondly, Americans by enlarge are not racists or bigots, deep red states such as Virginia, North Carolina, and Colorado voted in favor of our new president. If we were to believe the large collection of pundits that were fearsome of the “Bradley Factor”, then, Barack Obama wouldn’t be President Elect right now. Instead he will become our 44th President come January 20th, 2009.. What the pundits in Washington, LA, and New York do not understand about Americans in general and those living in deep red states in particular, is the fact that they believe in fairness more than anything else. Fairness in their world means that if you work hard, obey the laws, and respect your neighbors you have as good a chance as anyone to move ahead regardless if you are Black, Hispanic or just plain White. What Americans object the most, and this is a trait often confused by many, is the concept of moving you ahead of the line just because you belong to a particular racial group. That is simply not fair in their view. Last night showed CBS, ABC, PBS, NBC, CNBC, and the rest of the pundits this simple fact. Americans are truly exceptional, and those in the media that doubted this fact should reconsider. Read More.. |
